The last month at Pipis has seen the construction of the basement continue. The formwork of the level 1 basement is now 80% complete as the team prepares to finalise this and pour the concrete. The final step in this process is the completion of the formwork (Temporary structure that allows the structural reinforcement to be placed as well as the concrete).
As part of our basement construction, LPS Group saw the completion of the shotcrete finish and waterproofing to the inside face of our secant walls. An intricate process, this step is crucial for waterproofing and ensuring our basement remains dry long into the future. The crafted wood floated finish to the wall stands as a true testament to the team’s dedication to maintaining a high-quality level of finishes.
The completion of our basement one raft slab has allowed us to be able to securely house the base of our SIERA Tower Crane. With the first scheduled assembly being canceled due to wet weather conditions and the crane assembly being a high-risk activity, we are excited to say that the crane went up in the first week of April.
Another big achievement this month was the undergrounding of our overhead power lines. A challenging and costly process, implementing this was crucial for the aesthetic and functional integrity of the building’s western façade and was something we felt the project deserved. By permanently relocating these powerlines underground, we have allowed our future residents to enjoy unobstructed views of the McPherson range, which is made up of the Springbrook & Lamington National Parks and Mount Warning.
Finally, we thought it a good opportunity to introduce you to the team at LPS Group who are working as our Building contractor for Pipis. Holding a very close relationship with LPS Group and collaborating closely together on the build of Pipis, we feel it is important to share some insight into who they are, their history, ideals, and values so that you too can understand the trusted relationships that SIERA holds with those who we partner with to deliver your future home.
